Oh no, that would be a sane reason for coming to Dallas. Nope, ours is more insane. My mom wants my son to spend a couple of weeks in Cedar Hill. Bet. But I forgot to get some cheap tickets, so I'm driving the fam to Dallas, and then the wife and I are turning around and driving back. It's the annual Ross reverse migration to Texas that I've done since I was about ten years old. So we'll be in Cedar Hill about a day before we hit the road back to the crib. However, we'll have about ten kid free days to chill a bit (although we'll probably do nothing but talk about Langston the whole time he's gone). Wish me luck (as I'm getting XM radio for the trip).

Oh wow. I did the exact same thing when I was a kid. Went from L.A. to Texarkana twice a year. Cedar Hill is where I had my first house built in 2004. I'm renting it now, but I'm thinking about selling it at the end of this year. Value has already increased $15K in the first two years! Cedar Hill seems to be the southern Dallas County hot spot!

Anyway, hope you guys have a safe trip!!!

We head out there every Thanksgiving because my sister and her husband (and my two adorable twin nieces) live there. My mom saw their house and decided to sell her Inglewood townhouse and move around the corner (which is VERY black Texas. When I was growing up, it seemed like my aunts and uncles always lived on the same block). She bought a nice house, redid it, and now is sitting pretty, paying way less than in Cali. So I'm the first in the family born in Cali, and now I'm the last one to stay here. But I love it here rather than Dallas. Thanks for the good wishes!
