Being Contest Producer...

for the UCLA Screenwriters Showcase sucks big time. I have judges on their way to Cannes, dealing with pilots, upfronts, moving offices and turning off their phones, etc. and they all have to be found in order to get their scores. We're a week overdue, and I've been working at this for ten straight days. I can't wait until this is over and done with. Three weeks until graduation.

Oh, man, I wouldn't wish that job on my worst enemy. Well, maybe my worst enemy, but certainly not you!

It's a very thankless job.

I have to say, the digital print shop transfer and delivery was a stroke of freakin genius, though. I had the privilege of packing script boxes back in the day, and it really, really sucked.

Do you understand how much I wish that I'd pulled my hand down when they asked for volunteers. I could have easily just delivered boxes. As for Digital Express, this whole thing would have been a NIGHTMARE without Maziar at the print shop. We boxed up scripts in an hour and a half versus six hours. I really hope to be through with this thing by Wednesday.
