Freelance Writing for magazines...
Sucks. Big Time. You write the article and wait, and wait, and wait, to get paid. The editor is typically in a bad position because the publisher is waiting on that last ad to come in, while delegating the angry writers to her. I'm one of those angry writers. I'm owed a check that should have been here in June, and now it's July. I finally get the invoice, but do you think I'll get paid this month? Your guess is as good as mine. Grrr...

Yeah, but this time, I've had it up to here. I write the article, then I should be paid on time. No other part of the writing industry jerks around writers like magazines. And it's not the editors fault. It's the publisher.
Oh, L, how I feel your pain. Only thing worse is being a staffer and waiting for the publisher to get his shit together to pay you.
And I've recently re-joined this funky fray? Ai dios mio...
Why the hell can't folks get their cash flow right? And it is worse being in the office, watching the editor hide when it's check time. That's when you want to throttle them. lol
