My Movie A Day...

Now that I'm in film school, I've decided that I should actually start watching some films. So I'm watching at least one film per day. Some are classics. Others are obscure. Some I've watched, but now I'm rewatching in order to observe the screenwriting. And they are different as could be. Today, I watched 12 Angry Men and Goodfellas.

I love the first 12 Angry Men. Never know there could be so much going on in one room. The remake was good also.

I was thinking about trying the movie a day thing for 30days but I just don't have the time right now.

I'm going to go back through the IMDB top 250 first and then move on from there.

I actually did the movie a day thing for about 3 or 4 months. I probably still watch at least 5-7 a week but I don't force myself to do one a day. My movie knowledge scares me now because I was never a film geek before, but now I have coversations with films geeks and can actually hang.

Take care and good luck.

My problem is that I love sports more than I love movies. But I love writing more than either of them. So I like what I like when it comes to films, but I'll never be a film geek. I just want to be fluent. I'm much more interested in how writers write the movies versus anything else. I love watching beats and seeing how a skilled writer can weave a story beyond the formulaic.
